Companion House aims to ensure that mainstream health and related services are accessible to refugees, and that high need torture and trauma survivors receive specialist interventions, including counselling.
Companion House provides a range of services to survivors of torture and trauma, both those newly arrived and longer term settlers, including:
- Complementary Therapy
- Community Development
- Legal advice (application assistance, referrals under IAAAS in the ACT)
Referral: Required. Anyone can refer, for example: GP, Self-referral
Catering to: All ages.
Cost: Free service.
Parent or guardian: Parent must attend intial meeting.
