The Aboriginal Health Liaison Officer assists the Aboriginal community in Northern Sydney in identifying their health needs. They provide culturally relevant health information to NSLHD & key stakeholders, participate on committees that deal with the health care needs of Aboriginal people, liaise with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal community service providers in Northern Sydney, and provide appropriate resources for staff and the Aboriginal community in Northern Sydney.
The Health Liason Officer helps you make your medical appointments, works closely with Aboriginal community and agencies to find strategies to support you and your family, provides written and verbal information about your illness and how you can manage it, and provides physical, social, and emotional support for you and your family.
