The Big Brothers, Big Sisters program provides one-to-one friendship, support and guidance to young people (aged 7-17) whose needs are not being met by their current support system. The program matches mentors (aged 20 to 45) with a child or young person who could benefit from an additional supportive relationship with a caring and stable adult. The aim of the program is to provide young people with a positive relationship which supports their personal development. They meet with their mentor regularly each week for 2-4 hours, for a minimum commitment of 12 months.
